Wonderful independent hotel located in Kemp Town – recently voted number one in a poll of gay & lesbian friendly places to stay in Europe by TripAdvisor. And if you fancy being Marilyn or Bogey for a night, each room is themed on a classic movie star… Gay Hotels Brighton intimate choice.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Maralyn Monroe room at the top of the house over the BH weekend and found it very peaceful. The hosts were accommodating of our needs and pleasant to talk to! The room was spacious and airy and overlooked the road but wasn’t in any way disruptive of sleep. The breakfast was spot on, nothing else was expected and we were entirely satisfied with our stay. The shower was a bit noisy but the room was clean and ideal for a long weekend! I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. One of the most recommended gay friendly hotels in central Brighton.
Amsterdam Hotel

3 star hotel, 25 rooms, 180 reviews, score 8.1
This is a 100% gay hotel in Brighton + a pub, in the basement there is also a very small gay sauna. My partner and myself stayed at the Amsterdam hotel over a weekend in March 2012. We booked a sea view room, and were not disappointed. The location is ideal, overlooking the pier and new wheel. We had a small balcony as well. The room was great and modern with a wet room shower.
We had a great time. However, we have stayed there before, and this time we were disappointed with the beakfast. We like a continental beakfast, but the items were limited. I understand that the restaurant is now franchised, maybe that’s why.
It can be noisy at night, but if you want peace and quiet stay in the countryside!
Anyway, the service is still great and the staff helpfull and welcoming. A 100% gay hotel in the heart of Brighton.

What a lovely hotel. The staff in particular John was so helpful and went over and above and always smiling. Our room had a direct sea view the room was clean. My only gripe was the room was in need of a lick of paint and the shower could have been hotter (hence not giving it 5 stars). As they are one of the only hotels in Brighton that offered a one night stay it was well worth it. I highly recommend this hotel and me and my husband would definitely come back again as it is central to everything.
This hotel has the most friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff I have ever encountered in all my years of travelling.
I really couldn’t have asked for more and the surprise upgrade to the penthouse was just what was needed to top off a perfect celebratory weekend!
The room was immense, with a perfect view of the sea, Brighton Pier and the big wheel…
The staff are a real credit to this gay hotel – I only wish that was the same everywhere I visit – and I really couldn’t fault them in any conceivable way!
If you’re a couple/friends/flying solo then this is the perfect place to go as it is right near all the action with clubs, bars and restaurants all within a stone’s throw.
I would even recommend it to families because the staff simply couldn’t do enough for you…
Stay here and you won’t regret it…
